Hi there! My name is Nell (short for Marnelli), 34, Filipino and a proud Bulakeña. I have four sisters and I am the eldest. I grew up being independent as a child, I took care of my siblings when my mother is out for work. I ran errands for my mother in the market. I do my homework without my parents help. I graduated in high school as a full scholar which continues until my college. Since we are not rich enough to support all the expenses in school and at home, I tried working and earn a living during summer when school is over. I tutored a high school student, worked as an extra in a factory that sells plywood, pipe a sack in an industrial company that makes cement bags. I also tried packing straws of a juice for tetra packs drinks, and even inserting cottons on pre-sewed dolls to support my schooling. I also sell bookmarks with name lettering or cards (valentines card, christmas card, etc.) during my elementary days at school.
Right now, being a full time mom after resigning from my corporate work as a Data Loader in Philippine National Oil Company is not an easy work to do. If it weren’t for my pregnancy, I am still a corporate employee, which is actually not very fulfilling in my case. Maybe because I grew tired of what I do which is repetitive and most of the time stressful. Balancing time at work and with my family is not fun at all. Though I am working full time before, I’m still into a lot of sidelines. Maybe it’s in my blood to be a somewhat an entrepreneur. I sell stuffs online. At first, with perfumes and replica shades (which was really in demand because they were cheaper and let me tell you, they really look and feel the same as original).
Currently, I’m working as a freelance graphic artist (online and offline), which is my previous job before I became a government employee. I do a lot of designing from banners, tarpaulins, logos, call cards, invitation etc. Though I graduated as an Engineer with major in Computer, my inclination is into arts and crafts. I love crafting and making cute things. I tried polymer clay, scrap booking, beading and the likes. I believe that I’m great at everything that I do with my hands. 🙂 I would love to share my “work of arts” to you guys.
I have 3 beautiful kids Chloe, Shunji and Jiro. I am a proud wife of an amazing Audio/Video Engineer in odesk Rolly. I’m not really new to blogging. In fact, I tried a couple of times before, but haven’t had the time to continue posting stuffs and maintain them. So please bear with me. 🙂
