Crab Shells: Hook Only Rainbow Loom Bracelet New Design
It’s been awhile since my last post. I got busy with kids and all. Also, my son catch pneumonia, plus his asthma is a pain in the @$$! To make my story short, I had to do mommy duties. Enough said, my new hook only rainbow loom bracelet Crab Shells, was named by my one and only daughter, Chloe. As the name imply, she says, she was looking at the crab’s shell body when she look at this bracelet. She always wanted to name one of my designs and now she got the chance to, and she loves it!
Now, without further adieu, let’s get started!
What you need:
– Set of rainbow loom bands of your choice. I use Opaque Dual Layer Banana Peel and Opaque Grey on this sample.
a.) Get your band for your first color and make a figure 8 or a capped band on your hook. I use Opaque Grey as my 1st color.
b.) Insert the same color band through the band on your hook.
With 2 bands bands on the hook (both Opaque Grey bands)
a.) Insert a new band color (I use Banana Peel Dual Layer Opaque bands), on the first loop only.
b.) Pull over the other end of the new band on the tip of the hook. DO NOT close the loop yet.
a-c.) With the same loop (Grey) insert a new band of the same color as your 2nd (Banana Peel). DO STEP 2, two more times (figures a-b), so that you will have 3 Yellow bands looped on the 1st Grey loop. It should look like figure c. After doing so.
d.) Flip the bands or slide it to the other end if you are usinf double ended hook And do the same step to the other side.
With 8 bands on the hook (3yellow, 2gray, 3 yellow)
a.) Pull over the hook tip the 2nd and 3rd band (both yellow). It should look like the 1st band (yellow) is through 2nd and 3rd band.
b.) Flip or slide the bands and do this on the other side. It should now have 4 bands on the hook (yellow,2grey,yellow)
c.) Insert a new band same as your 1st color band on all 4 bands on the hook.
d.) Re-hook the 2 bands (2 grey) in the middle. So now we have 4 bands on the hook again but all with the same color.
a.) Insert a new band through all the bands on the hook with your 1st band color. Now you have 2 bands on the hook.
b.) Repeat Step 2 to Step 4, until you reach the desired length of your bravelet, necklace, choker or any item that you want with it. Gather them all together and put a c-clip to close it.
Your Crab Shells Bracelet hook only rainbow loom bracelet is now finished! You can leave it as it is or you can pull on the side a little more to emphasized the details. You can also work in it your favorite border design, this one step I leave it all to you to personalized it. The border on the one I posted in Navy Blue and White Limited Edition band is just a simple insert-twist-slip stitch. You can do this also to achieved the same look.
Again, I hope my steps are clear and you have followed them easily. I do hope you enjoy this tutorial.
