Most of the times, when you begin a new row, you first make a chain. You can also make a few chain stitches, join their two ends to form a ring for a project.
To make a Chain,
- Hold your yarn as you used to and make a slip knot.
- Yarn over hook and pull through the loop of the slip knot, that count as your first chain.
- Push your hook forward, yarn over and pull through again into the loop.
- Make sure you pull through up to the working area of the hook so you can make uniform stitches.
