The ISIS Bracelet
This is my own original design rainbow loom bracelet. I posted this in my Instagram account sometime in November of this year 2014. After waiting for any input that would come from any loomers in IG, I concluded that it is really an original design by me. Meaning, no one has done the same design yet.
I’m not good in naming any of my bracelets. Maybe because I’m not used to it yet, I just started looming end of 2012 and early 2013. I even asked some loomers around through my post in Instagram for a name suggestion but, I guess I’m not that popular enough to have many friends and followers who can actually send me a comment and feedback for a name. Been wanting to share the design with other loomers, I decided to research for a good name, and ended up calling it “ISIS” bracelet.
ISIS is an Egyptian Goddess of health, marriage and wisdom. I know, it doesn’t have much to do with the design but the center part of this design looks like an Ankh which is the symbol for Isis. Thus the name pops to my mind.
Should anyone would like to make this bracelet, I hope you could tag me in it when you post it in IG. And please also hashtag it to #isisbracelet and #nelldesign. It would make me happy just to know you like it or just try it. Spending all those bands for making it is enough to be thankful for.
So here goes my Isis bracelet. I hope you can follow my tutorial. Loom on!
Original rainbow loom bands I used in this tutorial are:
B. Below: Generic Colored bubble bands and Jelly White
You can always of course used whichever bands you want, and color that you want, whichever suits your taste will do.
So here are the steps before you get bored with what I blubber in this post haha!
Step1. Set-up your loom board in its regular form. Arrow facing away from you. Lay the bands as shown in the pic. Lay first the colored bands in the middle in L-M-R (Left-Middle-Right) respectively. We will call this the “triangle segment”. each set of three band is 1 triangle segment. Continue placing these bands until you reach the end of the loom.
NOTE: I used one loom for this bracelet, outcome is a half bracelet only, so if you want a full bracelet you can use two looms. My wrists goes up to 16 triangle segments.
Step2. Lay your perimeter bands on the sides of the loom. as the pic above shows, it’s the jelly white bands.
Step3. Now the looping! Turn your loom board around so we can start looping. Loop regularly the perimeter bands on the lowermost part of the loom. Loop them going back to themselves.
Next, loop the first triangle segment, same as the perimeter bands going back to themselves.
Step4. Loop the side perimeter back to themselves, and then loop the lower left band of the first triangle segment as shown in the picture above. Do this also on the right side of the first triangle segment.
Step5. Get the next perimeter band, this time, you will not loop them to themselves but loop it to the center peg of the first triangle segment. You will do this on both left and right perimeter band.
Step6. Get your 2nd triangle segments looped doing the same as in Step3 by lopping them back to themselves one at a time. From L-R.
Step7. Loop the sides of the 2nd triangle segment as we did back on Step 4. Repeat all the steps from 5-7 until you reaches the end of your layered bands. Put a C-clip and viola! your ISIS bracelet is finished.
I hope the instructions are clear and understandable. Don’t forget to drop by anytime for a new bracelet post. I have a lot coming soon and hopefully uploaded. Thanks for your time reading! Do try this, I cannot justify the beauty of this bracelet, but I guarantee you wont regret you use your precious bands for this one. And don’t forget to hashtag it to #isisbracelet and #nelldesign and tag me on Instagram @koolitskee. Thank you!
Here is another Isis Bracelet using Rainbow Loom Limited Edition Bands
in Enchanted Glitter and White Pearl Packs.
This one using Rainbow Loom Pastel Pink in Assorted Pastel Pack
and generic White Jelly bands from a local store.
BTW, Isis Bracelet is reversible. You can see the back and front both were nicely patterned.
