Monster Tail Kit
After 48 years! (Not really! Haha) I got my Rainbow Loom Monster Tail. The real deal! It is also on my wishlists! Yey! I got this way back few months back, but haven’t got the time to do an unboxing so here it is! I know a lot of people who have done this and probably most of you know what it is and what’s inside it but well, here is mine!
What is a Monster Tail? Others who are not familiar with Rainbow Loom would probably say, “What is that? I’ve never heard of it. Is it a real monster tail? Is it a toy?”. Monster Tail is a product release by Rainbow Loom early quarters of last year. It is made to be a travel size loom so you don’t have to carry bigger looms like the usual rainbow loom. It can also make bracelets and other accessories and items that you can make with the usual rainbow loom. But of course with a limitation as to what design are you going to make.
The front of the Monster Tail Kit has the same color of blue as the original Rainbow Loom box packaging. It shows the content you can get from the Monster Tail Kit in text, and some sample made from the loom itself.
The back and the side of the Monster Tail Kit box shows a preview of all that is inside the box.
This is the contents of Monster Tail Kit. The black plastic container serves as the storage for all of all the contents so it is advisable that you keep them. If you don’t have a case yet this is nice to spare because it keeps them tidy and secured inside.
The complete lists of what is included in the Monster Tail Kit are as follows:
- 1 Monster Tail™ Loom,
- 1 Mini Rainbow Loom®,
- 600+ Latex-Free Mixed Color Rubber Bands (colors may vary),
- 1 Rainbow Loom® Plastic Hook,
- 25 Large C-clips,
- 1 Instructional Manual with Anti-Counterfeit Secret Code
Monster Tail Loom has 2 rows of 3 pegs each and has 2 middle pegs on each sides. It is a clear hard plastic, smooth and solid. Since it is a travel loom, it is built to be small and handy. With a little imagination and practice, you can design endlessly with this loom. Designs made with the Monster tail loom are called “growing designs”. Growing because, as you progress with the design by adding bands on layers, the product is growing or getting longer over time until you reach the desired length of the design you are making.
Here is the close up view of the Monster Tail Loom.
The two ends of the original Monster Tail Loom should have the embossed “Monster Tail” trademark Patent Pending and “Choon’s Design” on the other. You can also notice the red color peg on the one end which allow you to compare it to knockoffs, which doesn’t have this mark.
The Monster Tail Loom pegs opening are all on the outside. This allows the user to easily hook the bands over the center of the loom. The bands included in the kit are latex-free rubber bands, which means it does not contain any harmful substances that could irritate the skin of the users. It is a mixed pack of Opaque bands in various colors.
The hook that comes in the Monster Tail Kit is a plastic one. Not as sturdy as the metal tip hook, but is easy to use and really light. It also comes with 25 large c-clips which has the rainbow loom embossed on each piece.
The manual teaches the basic use of the Monster Tail Loom with a step by step procedure on how to put the bands and follow the patterns. It also offers template that you can later use it to make your own patterns. This is also where you can find the secret code (scratch code) which you can use to be a member of the rainbow loom website community for exclusive updates and contests.
