Rainbow Loom Starbucks Frappuccino Charm
I can’t believe I missed a week for my featured loomer! Life has been very busy for me. Finding a new home for us, doing crochet MTO’s (yes I accept commission now for crochet projects, so If any of you are interested in please send mea message through my contact page), kids schooling, and the fast approaching birthday of my eldest. i can’t believe she’s going top be 9 years old this coming February. Time flies so fast. But please not so fast!
This week will be a charm maker loomer. She’s actually been an acquaintance in Instagram for a couple of months now. I could say she’s a very fine lady. A pure Korean but base in Canada since she was little. She had made a couple of cute little charms you can use either as a play item or a bracelet charm, or even a collection. As she being a loomer/baker most of the charms she made has a connection with baking and food. And these are what I am going to share to you all. My loomer for the week is Iris also known as @iris_handmades in Instagram. She have made a couple of tutorials too for other loomer-designer mostly designs like loomigurumi with our friends from Japan. Let me share to you some of her original works and show her some love by making them. Let’s get looming!
One of her work which is my favorite is this Starbucks Frappuccino Charm. I have made lots of them as a keychain and gave them to friends last Christmas. I also gave some of them to my classmates in elementary as a remembrance on our get together meet up. I can say I am not only the one who loves them, they were also thrilled to see and learn about that they can be done with bands too!
So without further adieu, let me count to you the things we need to make this Starbucks Frappuccino Charm.
- Set of bands – For the body you will need around 20 bands for the base. 2 transparent Jelly bands for the lid. around 13 bands for the whip cream, 2 bands (green and white) for the logo and 1 green band for the straw.
- Rainbow Loom board – you will basically need just one loom (3 pin bars) with all the pin bars parallel as a set-up.
- Rainbow loom hook – you can also use a crochet hook, but I recommend the RL hook since its end is much deeper than the crochet hook. We need a steady hook for this one because we are making charms in double bands.
- (Optional) If you want it to be a key chain like I did, you will be needing some jump rings, and an key ring holder.
