It’s me again! Sorry for the lack of post. Same old reasons you know! hehe. Anyways, It’s just fitting to post another article today. It’s been long overdue, since this is supposed to be published a week ago. Yes! That’s how hectic my schedule is, I can’t even login to my PC to write about this!
Anyways, I won! Yey! Not anybody would celebrate but when it comes to yarns nowadays, a crafter-crocheter/knitter like me is thrilled enough to won even a cake of yarn! There’s a pinch of happiness knowing that you get yarns for free only by winning a simple giveaway.
The giveaway host is none other than Ms. Cynthia Alinduza of Baguio Yarns Dot Com. She’s a writer, teacher and crafter living in Baguio City and just started on this business of selling yarns online. She offers what we call here in the Philippines as Baguio Yarns. I am not sure why it is called but I know that these yarns are named as such because it came from one province in the Philippines called Baguio City. One of the best and quality yarns used in the Philippines are these baguio yarns. Not to mention is it very affordable. As I quote from Ms. Cynths,
Crocheting and knitting are activities that every person should be able to enjoy -and afford. There is certainly no need to spend thousands just to fulfill one’s love for ‘hooking’. Baguio yarns are high-quality, and through our store, we would very much like everyone to have access to beautiful, affordable yarns.
I was so happy to be one of the people that has been given a chance to join this giveaway. The mechanics she require are so easy and you don’t need to purchase to join (isn’t it sweet?). That is how generous the shop owner is on giving away these lovely yarns. It is her first giveaway and she is actually giving away some more yarns every month! Yes, you read it right. So, what are you waiting for? Visit her page and follow to get a chance too to win and experience their yarns!
And for the happy mail, here are the photos of my winnings from Baguio Yarns Dot Com. My winning was shipped thru a third party courier. Luckily it came unharmed at my doorstep.
The yarns are safely covered with this lovely red-flowery cloth bag. I bet it can hold up up to 4 cakes of yarn of the same sizes. (4 x 100g of cake yarns for example)
Here are my winnings!
I couldn’t be more happier to see how lovely the yarns are in person! It is a mixed cotton Baguio yarns in 3 colors-Black, Fuchsia and Blue. This yarn is soft and squishy in person. The texture is smooth and it has luster in it.
I also made a comparison of this yarn to one brand of mercerized cotton yarn. Pretty much the weight of this yarn is the same – fingering weight yarn. I can’t wait to try this on a project soon!
Another item in my winning is this handmade Crochet hook case which I find really cute! It has ample slot for some crochet hooks you want to store. I put some of my small hooks on the slots on picture below. The wider slot I think is for the scissors, or a measuring tape. What I like about this case is that, it can be rolled which takes only little space in your craft area. You can also use this hook case for travel, when you decided to carry on some projects a long with you on a vacation. I can also see the potential of this handmade case as a make up brushes storage. Probably my sister would borrow it from me when she sees it.
So, there you have it! My winnings from Baguio Yarn Dot Com! I would probably post too what project I will come up with this yarn soon! Thank you for your time reading!
